Since the release of patio heaters, some people have always argued against them. The most common complaint against them is that they are bad for the environment, due to the way they generate the heat. Other arguments against them are that they waste alot of heat and energy in general.
The biggest complaint that they damage the environment is true. Standard patio heaters generate their heat by burning propane gas. Because the gas is burned, as with everything that burns, carbon dioxide is created which causes damage to the environment.
The second complaint against them, that they waste alot of heat, is also true. Despite the tops of patio heaters being designed to reflect heat so it goes towards the ground, a large amount of heat is still wasted.
However, a heating company called Chillchaser has developed a brand new range of patio heaters that look to solve all the problems.
Rather than using a standard method of generating hear, Chillchaser have come up with a new way to do it. They use a new technique which uses carbon fibre rods to create heat. The advantage of using carbon fibre heating is that it emits absolutely no CO2 gas. Despite this sounding like these new patio heaters have no damaging effects for the environment, they do slightly. Because these heaters don’t use gas, they require electricity to power the carbon rods, however, the actual eneregy required is very little so they actually only release 50% of the emissions that a standard patio heater would.
This new way of heating also helps to combat the second complaint, that they waste a large amount of heat. This method of carbon fibre heating means that the heat created is more focues, meaning less is wasted.
The final major advantage that Chillchaser patio heaters have over standard ones is that they are fitted with an infrared sensor. The sensor can detect movement and turns the heater on or off when movement is detected. This helps to reduce the impact on the environment if the heater is ever forgotten about.
By the looks of these new patio heaters, Chillchaser have managed to changed patio heaters forever and many eco-warriors won’t be able to moan about these heaters. I suppose the only complaint that could be made would be that they shouldn’t be used in the first place, which Chillchaser can’t really combat.
